The Process of making your pen

After ordering the pen and approving the artwork, The process of creating the pen is time consuming and can take some time before you receive your pen. Rest assured, your pen will receive all of my attention. Your pen will be one of a kind. No other person in the world will have the exact same pen.

1 – printing the artwork

Once printed, I wait at least 2 days before casting it in the mold and pressure pot I want to make sure that the image is completely dry. Moisture does very bad things to the material I use for casting

When the print is dry, I mount the image on the appropriate brass tubing, place the tube(s) in the mold, mix the resin and pour the resin into the mold.

I then put the mold into the pressure pot (50 psi) for 2 hours. I then take the mold out of the pot and remove the cast. If the cast is error free (no air bubbles) I let it rest for at least 2 days before I begin the process of turning it on the lathe.
